Question from Donna, a teacher:

Is zero an even number, an odd number, or neither? Why?

Donna,

A number is even if it is divisible by two, and odd if it isn't divisible by two.
Since 0 = 2 × 0, or equivalently 0 = 0 ÷ 2, the number zero is even.
