Question from Eric, a parent:

how so i write a numerical or variable expression for each quantity.
example two dozen eggs or d dozen eggs
number of quarts ub a 3 gallons

Hi Eric,

How about the number of inches in 3 feet and the number of inches in s feet?

There are 12 inches in a foot so the number of inches in 3 feet is 12 × 3 = 36.

There are 12 inches in a foot so the number of inches in s feet is 12 × s.

Sometimes we omit the multiplication symbol and say there are 12s inches in s feet.

I hope this helps,
Penny
