Hi Gayle,
Look at Steve's list of metric prefixes. It gives
| deci- (d-) | 10-1 | tenth |
| centi- (c-) | 10-2 | hundredth |
Thus a decimeter is one tenth of a meter and a centimeter is one one-hundredth of a meter. Thus it takes 10 centimeters to make a decimeter and thus 1500 centimeters to make 150 decimeters.
