Question from GENEVAMILTON, a student:

A WIRE THAT IS 6 FEET LONG IS ATTACHED TO A THE TOP OF A POLE THE WIRE IS ANCHORED IN THE GROUND AT 4 FEET FROM THE BASE OF THE POLE HOW TALL IS THE POLE?

Hi there.

Draw a right-angled triangle with the base 4 feet and the hypotenuse 6 feet.

What does the Pythagorean Theorem tell you the length of the third side (representing the pole) must be?

Cheers,
Stephen La Rocque.
