Question from Jillian:

i have a measurement of something in linear feet. i don't know what a linear foot is so i want to convert it to meters to have an idea.
how do i convert.

Hi Jillian,

A linear foot is a foot which is 12 inches and an inch is 2.54 centimetres. Thus a foot is 12 × 2.54 = 30.48 centimetres or 0.3048 metres. Hence if you have a length in feet then multiply it by 0.3048 to convert the measurement to metres.
