Question from Josh, a student: Prove the rational root theorem (where, in a polynomial equation, all factors of the constant divided by all factors of the leading coefficient are possible rational roots of the equation). |
Josh,
Take the two roots as given by the general quadratic and multiply them together. What does this tell you about the product of the roots?
