Question from JUAN, a parent:

THERE IS AN AREA TO BE PAINTED WHICH IS 6 FEET LONG AND 3 FEET WIDE IT HAD BEEN DIVIDED INTO 1 FT SQUARES. Two students will paint each square how many students will work on the mural?

Hi Juan,

Imagine that the region to be painted is covered with flooring tiles, each 1 foot by 1 foot. Along the bottom are 6 tiles, the second row has 6 tiles and the third row had 6 tiles. In total there are 6 × 3 = 18 tiles. It takes 2 students to paint a tile so how many students are needed?
