how do I write a variable expression for word phrase example x less than 2 or 2 less than p
4 fewer than job please help

Hi,

The first matter here is to get the symbols straight

a < b reads "a is less than b"

a ≤ b reads " a is less than or equal to b"

a > b reads " a is greater than b"

a ≥ b reads "a is greater than or equal to b"

So "x is less than 5" is x < 5.

"1 is less than or equal to x" is 1 ≤ x.

"p is greater than 6" is p > 6.

I hope this helps,
Penny
