Question from Mark, a student:

What is the formula I need to use to find the base of a triangle sail that is 16 feet high and has an area of 64 square feet.

Mark,

You probably know that the area of a triangle is area = 1/2 × base × height. Thus if you know the height (16 feet) and the area (64 square feet) you can find the base.
