Question from Miriam, a parent:

How do you write 92 tenths as a decimal?

Hi Miriam,

Ten tenths make one so ninety tenths will make nine. Thus 92 tenths will make 9 with 2 tenths left over. Thus 92 tenths is 9 + 2/10 or written as a decimal, 9.2.

Another way to say this is that 92 tenths is 92/10 and division of 92 by 10 gives 9.2.

I hope this helps,
Penny
