Question from mitch, a student:

find an expression for T(n), the nth term of the sequence
1/5, 3/8, 5/13, 7/20, 9/29

Mitch,

Try breaking it into two separate sequences:

Numerators: 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, ...

What is the expression for N(n)?

Denominators: 5, 8, 13, 20, 29,...

What is the expression for D(n)?

If you can come up with these two easier expressions, then
T(n) = N(n)/D(n) and you can just simplify from there.

Cheers,
Stephen La Rocque.
