Question from Olugbenga, a student:

What is the relationship between 0/6, 2/4, 4/2, 6/0?

Thanks alot

Hi,

I am not exactly sure what is expected here.

The first relationship I see is order

0/6 is less than 2/4
2/4 is less than 4/2

The problem with the next step is that 6/0 is not a number. Division by zero is not a legitimate arithmetic operation.

The second relationship I see is the 2/4 and 4/2 are reciprocals since 2/4 × 4/2 = 1. Again it seems as if 0/6 and 6/0 are also reciprocals but 6/0 is not a number.

I hope this helps,
Penny
