Question from Pamela:

Hello. My question was posed to me by my husband, who says he knows the answer and that there is an answer....I have tried to research it myself but to no avail. Here is the question, as he posed it to me.
?? = 1/2 of infinity. Help! Many thanks,
Pam

We have three responses for you

Pam,

In math, infinity is half of infinity. As a word play, perhaps nity is half of infinity.

Hi Pamela.

The number of positive whole numbers is infinite.
The number of positive even numbers is half this.

How many even positive numbers are there?

:)

Cheers,
Stephen La Rocque.

It's infinite. One way to look at it is to realize that if you added two finite things together, the answer is finite, so 1/2 of infinity cannot be finite, hence infinite.
