Question from Peter, a student:

A column has a diameter of 42 feet, a height of 40 feet, and weighs 15 tons. What is the mean number of pounds per cubic foot?

Peter,

Find the volume of the cylindrical column in cubic feet, convert the weight to pounds and then divide the weight by the volume to obtain pounds per cubic feet.
