Question from richie:

i am building a fish tank. it is going to be an irregular pentagon. the sides are going to be
24"
24"
8"
8"
32"(approximately)

there will 3 right angles A, B, E

my question is how to figure out the degree of the angles that are not right angles (C,D)?

Richie,

pentagon

The angles at C and at D are 135 degrees (= 180 - 45). What you have is a 24" by 24" square, and you are removing a corner in the shape of a right triangle whose legs have lengths of 16". The length of the oblique side CD is, of course, 16*sqrt (2) inches, or about 22.63".
