Question from Ryan, a student:

(x^2+x-22)^4/3=16

I keep on getting thrown off because of the fractional exponent I couldn't find an example like this one

Ryan,

Try cancelling out its effect by raising both sides of the equation to the 3/4 power. Remember that (y4/3)3/4 = y.
