Question from stefany, a student:

if sin 43= y/20, what is the value of y to the nearest tenth?

Stefany,

If y/20 = sine 43 then you can multiply both sides by 20 to get

y = 20 × sin(43)

Use your calcuator to find sin(43), multiply by 20 and then round to one decimal place.
