Question from Tasha, a parent: What is the sum of X in the problem below and explain your answer please? 1/2+X=5/8 Thanks |
What you need to do in a question like this is to isolate the X by adding or subtracting the same number from both sides of the equation. For example:
2/5 + X = 3/4
2/5 - 2/5 + X = 3/4 - 2/5
0 + X = 15/20 - 8/20
X = 7/20
