Question from Travis, a parent:

Bill receives time and a half for working overtime. If Bill is paid $55 for each hour of overtime, how much is his regular hourly wage?

Hi Travis. Here is how to approach the problem.

If Bill receives time and a half for overtime, that means that he gets one and a half hours of pay at his regular rate for each hour of overtime.

So $55 would be his pay for one and a half regular hours. If he got $55 for 1.5 hours, how much did he get per hour?

Cheers,
