Question from alicia, a parent:

what is the percentage price change between R66-R10 if the answer between the two is R56

Alicia,

If the change takes place over time then the percentage change is usually expresses as the change, as a percentage of the earlier value. Thus if the price changed from R66 to R10 then the percentage change is

[(later value - earlier value)/earlier value] × 100
= [(R10 - R66)/R66] × 100
= [-R56/R66] × 100
= - 84.8%

The percentage change is negative since the price decreased.
