Question from Brian:

I have 11 golfers playing 4 rounds of golf. It would be great if we could play at least once with everybody. I realize we will have 2 foursomes and 1 threesome each round...can you help?

Brian,

This is off the top of my head. For nine players everyone can play exactly once with everyone else over four rounds. That suggests that it may not be possible for 11 players. I suggest taking the nine player scheme and adding one player to two of the threesomes on each day. It isn't perfect, but it will be hard to do better. The 9 player scheme is

123, 456, 789
147, 258, 369
159, 267, 348
158, 249, 357

Good luck,
Victoria
