Question from charity:

if my coffee machine takes 10 scoops for every six cups, how many scoops do i need for 4 cups.
each scoops equals one tbls(.25 oz)

Hi Charity,

Every coffee machine I have ever owned calls for 1 scoop per cup and yours calls for more than 1 scoop per cup. I find that even 1 scoop per cup is too strong. For my own taste I use 1 scoop for every 2 cups. but to answer your question:

Since it takes 10 scoops for 6 cups that's 10/6 = 1 2/3 scoops per cup. Thus for 4 cups you need 4 × 1 2/3 = 6 2/3 scoops. Since a scoop is a tablespoon and there are 3 teaspoons in a tablespoon, 2/3 scoops is 6 scoops and 3 teaspoons.
