Question from Danielle, a student:

cos2x - 3cosx = 1

Hi Danielle,

In your equation cos2(x) - 3 cos(x) = 1 let y = cos(x) and then the equation becomes y2 - 3y - 1 = 0.

Can you solve it now?

If you need more help write back,
Penny
