Question from evelyn, a parent:

Some chickens, cows and sheep are in the field. Their number of legs is 12 more than twice their number of heads. How many four-legged animals are in the field?

Hi Evelyn,

If the number of legs were twice the number of heads then all the animals would have 2 legs and there would be no four-legged animals. Where are the 12 extra legs?
