Question from Jia, a student:

I need to find 3 ways of finding the area of a triangle. I've already had one method down which is b x h and divided by 2. What other 2 ways can i find the area of a triangle?

Jia,

Your teacher probably wouldn't like this answer, but there are three ways to compute the area of a triangle using 1/2*(base)*(height): you've got three choices to use as base! But there are many other methods. You can find a list in standard geometry textbooks, or on the web. A nice list of formulas is given on the mathworld site:
http://mathworld.wolfram.com/TriangleArea.html.

That is an excellent resource. Also, the Wikipedia has lots of useful mathematics.
