Question from a parent:

give two other ratios that are equal to each

example: 6/9

Hi,

Both 6 and 9 are divisible by 3 so if you divide the numerator and denominator by 3 you obtain the equivalent fraction 2/3. You can also multiply the numerator and denominator by the same amount to obtain an equivalent fraction. Thus, for example, if you multiply the numerator and denominator of 6/9 by 2 you obtain the equivalent fraction 12/18.

I hope this helps,
Penny
