Question from Lauren, a student: Two pages are attendants of a king. For their service, one gets 13/6 dinaras a day and the other gets 3/2 dinaras. The first page owes the second 10 dinaras. Calculate when they will have the same amount. |
Lauren,
To compare two fractions you need to express them both with the same denominator. Find a common denominator for 13/6 and 3/2. The first page makes more than the second. How much more? If the first page gives the second page this amount each day how many days will it take until his debt is paid off?
