Question from layla, a student:

how we white 256 in exponential form

Layla,

I would first write 256 in terms of its prime factors. For example

216 = 2 × 108 = 2 × 2 × 54 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 27 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 9 = 2 × 2 × 2 × 3 × 3 × 3

Thus

216 = 23 × 33 = 63

Either of the forms 23 × 33 and 63 I would call exponential forms.

Now try 256.

Harley
