Question from Leandrea, a student:

if you have 3 liters of air in your lungs and 2/10 of that is oxygen, how many milliliters of oxygen are in your lungs?

Leandrea,

The metric prefix mil indicates one-thousandth, thus one milliliter is one-one thousandth of a liter. Hence 1 liter is 1000 milliliters and 3 liters is 3000 milliliters. What is 2/10 of 3000?
