Hi Nathan, If you travel at 40 miles per hour then it takes you 1/40th of an hour to travel a mile. Hence to travel 2.5 miles it takes 2 1/2 × 1/40 = 1/16 = 0.0625 hours. In Minutes that's 0.0625 × 60 = 3.75 so it takes 3 3/4 minutes. Penny | ||||||||||||
