Question from Rebecca, a student:

How do I prove:

     1/sin@                csc@                -2sin@
________      +       ______       =    _____
1 + CSC@         1-1/sin@                 cos^@

Rebecca,

I would write csc(θ) as 1/sin(θ) and the multiply the left side by sin(θ)/sin(θ). Add the resulting two fractions and simplify.

Penny
