Question from Wanda, a parent:

If the volume of a sphere is decreased by 25%, what is the new equation?

Thanks,
Wanda

Wanda,

25% is 1/4 so if the volume of the sphere is reduced by 25% it is reduced by 1/4 and thus there is only 3/4 of the sphere remaining. The volume of a sphere is 4/3 π r3. What is the volume of 2/4 of the sphere?

Penny
