Question from Alex, a parent:

y= - log(x), where y = 4.3

solve for x.

Hi Alex,

I think the key to this problem is the fact about logarithms that says

log(ab) = b log(a).

Applying this to your problem

- log(x) = (-1) log(x) = log(x-1) = log(1/x).

Hence the problem becomes

4.3 = log(1/x), solve for x.

Is that enough help to solve the problem? Write back if you need more assistance.

Harley
