Question from Alyce, a parent:

The rule of this sequence is k=1/8n. Find the 8th term of the sequence.

1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, ...
Thanks!

Alyce,

I think you have stated the problem incorrectly. I think it's

The rule of this sequence is the nth term is n/8. Find the 8th term of the sequence.

For the first term n = 1 so the first term is 1/8.
For the second term n = 2 so the second term is 2/8 = 1/4.
For the third term n = 3 so the third term is 3/8.
...

Now can you find the 8th term?

Penny
