Question from aman, a student:

my question is regarding the fact
i have a formula which looks like this :
(ratio 1 + ratio 2 divided by 2)
so my question is do i add first then divide by 2 or do it all together
thanks

Aman,

I assume you have an expression of the form

2/7 + 3/5 divided by 2

which is equivalent to

2/7 + 3/5 times 1/2.

Since multiplication is performed before addition this is

2/7 + 3/10
