Question from Brandy:

I am trying to find out a total. I have 7,118.00 and I want to add 4.3% to that total. How do I do that.

Hi Brandy,

4.3% of 7,118.00 is 0.043 × 7,118.00 = 306.07. Thus adding 4.3% gives you

7,118.0 + 306.07 = 7,424.07.

You can perform this calculation in one step by

1.043 × 7,118.00 = 7,424.07.
