Question from Courtney, a student:

What the Exponential form? For Ex. X2*X5*X4??

Hi Courtney,

Let me solve a similar problem.

Write (y2 × y3 × y4) in exponential form.

My approach is to see y2 as y × y, y3 as y × y × y and so on , hence

y2 × y3 × y4 = (y × y) × (y × y × y) × (y × y × y × y) = y9.

Notice that this is

y2 × y3 × y4 = y2+3+4 = y9.

Now try your problem and then try this one

Write (y2 × y3 × y4)/y5 in exponential form.
