Question from David, a student:

A garden lot..360 square feet and 6 inches deep..you want to fill this with mulch and use 2 cubic. foot bags...how many bags will it take to fill this? Thank you...Dave

Hello,

Since you've calculated the area of your garden plot you only need to multiply this number by the depth of the plot to find the volume. Remember that the units must match, thus we have to convert 6 inches
into feet, which is half a foot. So the volume of the plot is 360(0.5) = 180 cubic feet. One bag is 2 cubic feet, how many bags is 180 cubic feet?
