Question from George, a student:

surface area of a vessel with a cylindrical length of 60 feet, a diameter of 10 feet, and with belled ends of 5-foot radius

Hi George,

First calculate the surface area of the cylindrical part of the vessel. If you have a sphere of radius 5 feet then you can cut it in half to form the belled ends. What is the surface area of a sphere of radius 5 feet?
