Question from Linh, a parent:

Perform the indicated operations:
6 1/4 + (- 2/3) x 1 1/2

Linh,

You need to express the mixed numbers as improper fractions. For example in the mixed fraction 5 1/3, 5 is 15/3 so 5 1/3 is 15/3 plus 1/3 which is 16/3. Thus 5 1/3 = 16/3.

Convert the two mixed fractions in your problem to improper fractions and see if you can evaluate the expression. If you need further help write back.
