Question from Mike, a parent:

My son has a question / problem.

Find the base and height of a triangle using the ratio 3:2 and an area of 108 inches square. Is there a formula we need to use?

Thanks

Mike

Hi Mike,

If the base and height are in the ratio of 3:2 then there is some number a so that the base is 3a inches long and the height is 2a inches. What is the area of a triangle that has a base of 3a inches and a height of 2a inches? Set this equal to 108 square inches and solve for a. Make sure you check your answer.
