Question from Travis, a student: How many 5 card hands in a deck of 52 have 2 aces and 3 other cards? |
Hi Travis,
There are 4 aces in a standard 52 card deck. How many ways are there of selecting 2 aces from 4 aces?
I assume the other three cards are not aces and there are 52 - 4 = 48 cards that are not aces. How many ways are there of selecting 3 cards from 48 cards?
How many ways are there of selecting 2 aces from 4 aces AND 3 cards from the remaining 48 cards?
