Question from Adori, a student:

Use the properties of logarithms to simplify the logarithmic expression. Log(1/250) base 5

Adori,

Start by using the fact that for any base log(a/b) = log(a) - log(b). Next write 250 as 5 × 5 × 5 × 2 = 53 × 2. Now use the fact that log(a × b) = log(a) + log(b).

I hope this helps,
Penny
