Question from david, a parent:

We have to rectangles with measurements and we need to find the scale factor. The rectangles are W=6 L=4 for first and second is W=4 and L=3.

Hi David,

There is no scale factor that will transform one of the rectangles into the other. A scale factor between W = 6 and W = 4 is 2/3 since 2/3 × 6 = 4 but applying the same scale factor to the length L = 4 gives 2/3 × 4 = 8/3 not 3.
