Question from Eliza, a student:

Find the dimension of the box in centimetres. Then find its volume in cubic centimeters.
The box is 0.7m (l) 0.4 (h) 0.2 (w)

Hi Eliza,

The prefix centi means one one-hundredth. (It takes $100$ cents to make a dollar.)

It takes $100$ centimeters to make a metre. Hence $0.7$ metres is $0.7 \times 100 = 70 \mbox{ centimteres }.$

Can you complete the problem now? Write back if you need more assistance.
