Question from kanika, a student:

equation of sphere and how to know its center

Kanika,

The equation of the sphere with center $(a, b, c)$ and radius $r$ is

\[(x - a)^2 + (y - b)^2 + (z - c)^2 = r^2.\]

If you have an equation that is the equation of a sphere and you can put it in the form above then the center is $(a, b, c).$

I hope this helps,
Penny
