Question from Kara, a student:

How do I write this in exponential form?

log 1/8 = -3

Hi Kara,

Use that fact that the natural logarithm and exponential functions are inverses. That is for any number $x,$

\[\log(e^x) = x\]

and

\[e^{\log(x)} = x.\]

For your problem start by raising both sides of the equation to the power of $e.$
