Question from ken, a parent:

[(90+36-4) ÷ 2] x 15 =

Hi Ken,

The key here is to start as far inside the brackets and parentheses as you can. You have an expression inside brackets "[...]" and the inside this is a pair of parentheses "(...)" so that is where you start.

$90 + 36 - 4 = 122$ so your expression reduces to $[122 \div 2] \times 15.$ Now you have brackets and inside the brackets is $122 \div 2 = 61.$ Finally you have $61 \times 15$ so the result is the answer to $[(90+36-4) \div 2] \times15.$
