Question from Mike, a student:

I need to write an equation in the form Ax+By=C
The points I was given are (5,0) and (-3,5)

I know how to find the slope I got -5/8 and wrote it out as y=(-5/8)x+b however I'm not quite sure where to go from here.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mike,

You know that the two points (5, 0) and (-3, 5) are on the line so they must satisfy the equation. Choose on of them (the first one is probably the easier) and substitute it into the equation and then solve for b.
