Question from Miranda, a student:

WRITING TO EXPLAIN:If a line is measured as 1 and four eighth inches long, explain how you could simplify the measurement?

Hi Miranda,

Look at a ruler and count out four eights. Where do you end up? Why is that? Count out eight eights. Where do you end up? Why did four eights only get you half way to eight eights?
